I forgot to post about my birthday cake, which my sisters were awesome enough to let me help bake! it’s a chocolate cake with almond cream filling and bittersweet chocolate frosting. AMAZING.
I made my first real bread! that is, with dough that has to rise and all that yeasty whatever. it’s cheddar, beer, and mustard pull-apart bread and it is delicious.
just trust me, they’re delicious. it’s gonna be a bit difficult to write out a recipe because i didn’t measure some things, but i’ll do my best to guess. basically, these started out as chocolate chip cookies but i didn’t have any chocolate chips so i chopped up some dark chocolate and a cadbury caramello bar.
caramello chocolate chip cookies
1 3/4 cup flour
3/4 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1 1/2 sticks unsalted butter, softened
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
1 4 oz cadbury caramello bar, chopped
8 oz dark chocolate (or semisweet, if you prefer), chopped
preheat oven to 375. mix flour, baking soda, and salt in a small bowl. set aside. cream butter and sugar in electric mixer until light and fluffy. add egg and vanilla and mix until well blended. gradually add flour mixture until a dough forms. mix in chocolate.
put balls of dough 2 inches apart on a greased baking sheet, bake 10-12 minutes.
